EA have announced they are to release a new subscription service called EA Access which will be available to Xbox One users.
We first reported that a subscription model was in the works back in 2011 after a document was leaked containing EA’s plans. Despite being much more up to date the details are still remarkably similar.
According to IGN, by subscribing to the service you’ll gain access to EA’s “Vault” of games which will initially (whilst it’s in beta) contain FIFA 14, Battlefield 4, Madden NFL 25 and the deal breaker, Peggle 2 with other games being added in the future. Unfortunately they haven’t disclosed which games yet or how long after their original release they’ll arrive in the Vault.
It’ll cost $4.99 per month or $29.99 for a year’s subscription.
EA Access also looks like it’ll take off where the Season Ticket left off giving players early access to FIFA 15, Madden NFL 15, NHL 15, NBA Live 15, and Dragon Age: Inquisition a week early with saves carrying over to the retail versions.
Subscribers will also get 10% off all digital content including full games and DLC.
We’ll let you know a release date as soon as we get one.
