It’s an all Spanish Midfield in this year’s Ultimate Team of the Year and the 3 amigos are seriously worth their places with each one of them being so integral to their teams success this year. Expect them to cost a fortune on the market but if you’re lucky enough to be able to afford one of these players you’re going to want to know their stats.
You can check out the TOTY Defenders full stats here and we’ll bring you the attackers stats very soon!
Xabi Alonso
Rafa Benitez’ star man at Liverpool, Alonso endeared himself to fans with his wide range of passing and ability to opening up defences. With his lack of pace Alonso is usually best employed in a holding CDM role where he can break down attacks and instigate great counter attacks with his superb long passing.
In 2011 Alonso joined Real Madrid to the dismay of his father, Periko Alonso who was a star at Barcelona in the 80’s.
Xabi’s had his doubters as to whether he deserves his spot in the TOTY but any Real Madrid supporter will tell you how integral he’s been to their team this season.

Xavi
Xavi’s yet another player to come through the ranks at Barcelona joining them at the tender age of 11 and is now the epitome of Barca’s beautiful, quick passing style. Pep Guardiola called him “The brain behind Barcelona”
He’s only got 3 Star Skills but his amazing precision and skilled dribbling ability make him amazing at making space in tight situations and coupled with his visionary passing makes him an excellent addition to any midfield.
Like team-mate Casillas, Xavi has won everything there is to win in the game including the 2010 World Cup and Euro 2008 (when he was named Player of the Tournament) and is without doubt one of the best playmakers in his generation.

Andrés Iniesta
Iniesta joined Barclona when he was only 12 years old and has played with them ever since. He’s been one of Barca’s most consistent performers and was widely hailed as one of the world’s best players when playing an influential role in Barca’s historic six trophy season.
One of the most technically gifted players in the game and his versatility and willingness to work hard for his team mates make him the complete midfielder.
His link up play with Xavi at Barcelona is second to none but like Xavi he lacks strength and raw pace. However what he lacks in these areas is more than made up with his ability to split defences open with ease.
