The latest FIFA 12 trick shot can be seen in this video by Deanus2010 recorded at one of the roadshows on the EA’s FIFA 12 Tour.

The video’s recorded from his phone so excuse the quality but I wanted to show it to you because I’m intrigued to see what your reaction will be!

The trick shot (new to FIFA 12) is kind of a drag back to heel flick.

The reason it’s caught my attention is because when we played FIFA 12 at EA’s offices in Guildford a few weeks back you could trick pass like this at will, with any player in the game by holding the left trigger, which at the time seemed ridiculous.

EA took note of our feedback and put changes in place but as far as I’m aware you can still perform the trick pass at will – you’re just now limited to players of a certain skill level.

My guess is that you’re going to see a lot of this trick pass in FIFA 12 Pro Clubs once, after the first week, every man and his dog has leveled his Virtual Pro up to 5 Star Skills and it could lessen the realism of the matches. (Imagine, defenders skill passing it round the defence at will – it just wouldn’t happen…)

I’d prefer to see the trick pass introduced more contextually, in the right areas of the pitch and maybe when a team is a couple of goals up and coasting.

Anyway, take a look at the video and let me know what you think! Is the trick shot realistic or do you think it would be better suited to FIFA Street?

So you can actually do that? seems a little far-fetched for something you can do really, especially score

Yep – you can do that. We could pass like that with League Two centre backs at Guildford but they’ve put a stop to that lol.

It does seem a bit unrealistic. It’ll be interesting to see if this is a huge one off or wether you can do this every free kick…

This is stupid. some players can just about generate that kind of power by putting their foot through the ball. the power and accuracy from this ‘trick shot’ is highly unrealistic.

Must admit, that was my initial thought too. They’re still playing on an earlier build to the actual game that will be released (and the demo is an earlier build similar to the one used at Gamescom so I suppose we won’t find out how often (if at all) it will happen until the full game’s released…

Hello, this shot can be maked just by all ?

I read in an interview that in the versions presented at this time, all players can do but that the final version only large players are capable.

    Thanks Craig.

Yeah i had a question about that.
I playd the game and my players do the trick shot every time i pass and its makeing me mad because my passes wont go to my players.
So i was woundering is there way to change that.

PS: can anyone give me the button letters and what they do for fifa 12 keyboard?

I know on the xbox the trick pass is made by holding the left trigger when you pass. By all accounts it’s being toned down a lot by the final release.

I’m not sure about the FIFA 12 keyboards controls – I’ll try to find out…

On xbox you have to hold Right Bumper and pass, not left trigger and pass. But I’m wondering what you must press to do that trick shot with power and accuracy.
