FIFA 13

With our claws firmly into FIFA 12 we thought it was about time to capture your thoughts and ideas in our FIFA 13 Wishlist.

EA are really embracing the community this year more than ever which is fantastic news because it means we get a say in the direction the developers take when they’re making the game we love.

Although the FIFA 13 release date (expected to be October 2012) seems a long way away, it will already be in development and of course we’ll keep you posted with the latest news along the way.

Gameplay Changes

With the HUGE gameplay changes put into FIFA this year, we’re expecting a lot of you have got some big opinions, changes such as:

  • Precision Dribbling
  • Impact Engine
  • Tactical Defending

I know that these have been a huge talking point in the FIFA community with early builds of the impact engine churning out some amazing and bizarre results (most of them ending up on YouTube).  It was toned down and polished for the final version of FIFA but some people still have some gripes.

And where do we start with tactical defending?  The aim was to make defending more realistic, take more thought and more skill and to make defending in FIFA feel like more of a challenge rather than just holding the press button to torpedo attackers.

I’ve got to admit, it’s a much more rewarding system but there’s definitely room for improvement.  What do you think?  Prefer the old system or is this the way forward?

Career Mode

There was also a massive overhaul of Career Mode which brought us tonnes of great features like:

  • Youth Academy
  • Transfer Deadline Day
  • Player Interaction
  • and many more!

What was your best addition to this year’s Career Mode?  What features need improving or can you think of a new addition altogether?

Ultimate Team

The Ultimate Team format stayed very similar to last years with the main improvements coming on the web app side of things.  You can now do almost as much on the web app as you can on the console with the exceptions being using real money and obviously playing games.

In my opinion the web app has come on leaps and bounds this year so far but what could EA do to improve the overall format for FIFA 13?

Pro Clubs

The lack of progress in Pro Clubs has been a major bugbear in the Clubs community.  There is a distinct feeling of Clubs being an afterthought this year with the format not really changing at all.

EA did however put a lot of work into fixing the servers which was really important.  The ability to change your Pro and set up your team from the dressing room is a welcome addition as was the change that meant teams with similar points and amount of players match up.

There are still issues surrounding teams backing out in the dressing room, picking and choosing who they’re playing and boosting.  Do you play Clubs?  What do you think?

General Changes

Other big changes came with EA SPORTS Football Club, Head to Head Seasons, climbing divisions, cups, earning XP for you and your supported club, My Challenges and more.  We know that EA SPORTS couldn’t fit everything they wanted into EA SPORTS Football Club and they’ve already said that development in this area over the next couple of years will “blow us away” (great stuff!) but what else should they be focusing on?

What’s on Your FIFA 13 Wishlist?

So, let us know what you think!  What did EA SPORTS do well and what needs improving.  All suggestions are welcome no matter how big or small and we’ll feed the results back to EA.

(Make sure you let us know which game mode you’re talking about)
