FIFA 13’s broken records and won plenty of awards but it’s not been without it’s flaws. It’s been in the spotlight a few times already for bugs and issues.

EA Sports shows that it’s not just concentrating on the next generation of FIFA though and it’s still committed to trying to provide the best experience it can for current FIFA 13 players by releasing another patch for the game.

The patch is already available to download for PC players and will be released on both PS3 and Xbox consoles in the coming days.

The patch is great news for anyone affected but there’s always the argument that these issues should have been dealt with prior to release. The stark reality these days though is that the sheer magnitude of the online aspect of FIFA makes for many uncertainties when releasing a new game into the wild and it’s just not physically possible to test things on the same scales.

And unfortunately there’s always going to be people out there hell bent on finding and exploiting anything they can to the detriment of everyone else that just wants to play and have fun. The good news is that EA seem to be taking a particularly hard line on cheating and foul play this year.

It’s not just FIFA that releases patches to fix bugs. Most online titles continuously tweak and update their game on an ongoing basis to make your user experience better.

February’s FIFA 13 Patch Will Include

The official EA Forum announced the following details.

  • Guest Play added as an option in FIFA 13: Ultimate Team
  • An error when trying to access Pro Clubs
  • An issue to reduce disconnects to the EA Servers and in EA SPORTS Football Club while in menus or gameplay
  • An issue in Creation Centre where some licensed kits were displayed incorrectly
  • Disconnects while viewing FUT Auction House search results
  • Snow will again be a random weather option in Pro Clubs

Are you having any other issues that still haven’t been addressed? Let us know in the comments.

Can you add a option to add a guest in Pro Clubs? Also fix minor issues with one touch control in game play.

Are they ever going to fix the crashing at the end of games for ipad and other ios systems?  At this point i can’t even play ultimate FIFA until it is fixed.  If i’m not playing i’m not spending money EA!!!!!!!  Imagine getting to the final round of your favorite trophy your trying to win.  You score a goal in the 89th min to put you ahead 1-0.  When the 90th minute flashes red you’re ready to feel sweet victory.  Then all of sudden you’re looking at your desktop.  No win, No coins, No trophy. 1 lost contract.
HEY EA NO MORE MONEY FROM ME UNTIL IT’S FIXED.
Go read the post on the app store EVERYONE is complaining..

When I go to buy fifa points with a credit card and at the end it says that there is something wrong with their servers, but when I log back in I don’t have the fifa points yet they still take the money? They have taken over €200 since Christmas and I haven’t even got the points. Please fix this as I can’t afford to be loosing that amount of money. Please reply to this.

    Not physically possible???
I think these words must not be in a millionaire BIG company’s (like EA) vocabulary, specially when it comes to a franchise which has been out for so many years and still struggling with the same errors over and over again!

What if the customers would say to EA, “It’s not physically possible to pay all what you are asking for, but I will be giving you cent by cent as you are fixing the game”?
With a such excuse is clearly that EA people will never listen until some other company comes with a better product, or simply, a lot of customers will start not buying the game any more.

Too bad Konami got stock way behind with their PES franchise.

@Bonoplayer That was me saying it’s not physically possible rather than EA btw. But then you can’t really beta with the millions of people that play online. I hear exactly where you’re coming from though. It does seem to be the same problems time after time.

It’s the industry standard to tweak games after release though (look at Call Of Duty balancing weapons etc) but I agree the bugs should be ironed out before release. I suppose you could forgive a few minor ones down to genuinely unforeseen circumstances as long as they were fix in a timely manner.

Be careful what you wish for regarding a pay as you play deal for games, I reckon it won’t be long before the franchise is on a subscription model although I’m sure it won’t be a cent here and there. ;)

Whole heartedly agree that a strong PES would be good for FIFA! Check this out: https://ultimatefifa.com/2013/does-fifa-really-have-any-competitors-and-what-does-that-mean-for-me/

The most common and irritating issue I’ve been facing for a long time is when I complete the EA sports challenge and I only get the FCC coins but no XP at all. I’ve been completing challenges at a regular time but I don’t receive any XP whatsoever. Pls fix this EA

When playing Seasons mode if you have the lead and the other player quits mid game, it doesn’t always give you the three points.  This is very frustrating that this bug has not been addressed because it has been around since the release of the game.

Patch hasn’t solved my career mode blacking out and freezing my PS3 when I go to play the game. Not good enough EA after investing many hours into developing my team.
