FIFA 13 Pro Clubs News

We were treated to some FIFA 13 Pro Clubs news during Gamescom by way of EASPORTSFIFA on Twitter.

(You can get our Virtual Pro Accomplishment Tracker here)

Here’s the run down:

  • Is this the end of hacked Pros that plagued the Xbox? Hopefully! Only time will tell…

  • Great for the purist and players with a lot of time on their hands – Bad for players with other commitments but still want to compete at the top.

  • Human goalkeepers are one of the best additions to FIFA for a long time but there’s no doubt they were overpowered. Hopefully this will go some way to making them more realistic.

  • Play for promotion and to avoid relegation. Make every game count! Will this mean they’ll be less picking and choosing of opponents or are teams more likely to back out if they’re facing promotion / relegation and they match up against a tough team?

  • Overpowered AI or more in game realism. We’ll have to wait and see.

  • We understand that this will be automatic (like for like) rather than a searchable option. Should even the odds and make for more competitive matches.

  • Sounds like you’ll have to think about how you want your Pro to turn out.

  • God help us at the start of FIFA 13! :D

  • Looks promising – it’s always a challenge trialling players and risking losing that valuable, hard earned XP.

Unfortunately it doesn’t look like we’ll be getting club customisation this year but I’m sure Pro Clubs fans won’t mind what with all the other additions.

All in all a positive step in the right direction for arguably one of the most realistic game modes in FIFA 13 and much more Pro Clubs news than we’re used to getting this time of year.

Clubs fans, let us know what you think. Are the new additions what you were expecting or did you have other ideas?

Why put in a human goalkeeper search filter if they’ve fixed them? That will mean clubs that play with 11 human players will never find a game! I thought that was the point of clubs; to control a single player and work as a team?

    • JackRaidenBR August 31, 2012 at 5:03 am

No one in my team play as goalie and it just sucks playing against a team that has a human goalkeeper. EA is doing a great job. By having a searching filter, it will definetely please EVERYONE.

Whatever you thought the point of club was, forget it. I like it the way it is.

    • Marc September 10, 2012 at 7:27 pm

teams with 11 players will play against teams with 11 players!

Looks great. However it would be a pity if they have done all this to improve the game mode and yet they have left in the fact that smaller players are much faster, which is extremely unrealistic, unfair and biased considering the faster man in the world (Bolt) is 6’5 !!!

    • c August 28, 2012 at 10:02 am

however in football, is actually very realistic, small players, lennon, suarez ect. are fast yet taller players like zigic, crouch are slow, sooooo think you should adjust your comment to be more related to football not athletics :)

      • James August 31, 2012 at 7:38 am

How tall is Christiano Ronaldo? 6’4″ I believe….. Would you call him slow? Don’t think so…… Your logic is off.

        • VanBasten September 3, 2012 at 6:03 am

          Ronaldo is 6’1

          • IRISHBHOY September 27, 2012 at 1:53 pm

            yeah, still tall…………..

Ronaldo’s straight line speed isn’t that good as proved in a documentary about him, where he got beat by a not very well known sprinter, but his agility was a lot better, so it probably is realistic. usain bolt is just a freak and doesn’t follow the usual rule what is the average height for a sprinter I bet its a lot smaller.

      • faxfinn September 27, 2012 at 10:16 am

Suarez is fast? He´s as slow as Crouch, it just looks like he´s moving faster because he cant cover a 5m gap with each step…

        • Ryan October 10, 2012 at 6:21 pm

It is a video game. They have to have to have pros and cons to being short or tall. If it is possible to be 6’7 and freakishly fast, it will be a game of all giants who are fast. That’s not realistic.

I agree with james, your logic is way off, First off Sauraz is 5’11 so not exactly small, Ronaldo, David Luiz, Ramires, Rooney, Bale, Nani, Benzema Even Drogba when he was younger was quick. Except for Lennon, Walcott and Ashley Cole there isn’t many small quicksters out there and generally there ball control and dribbling is terrible compared to on FIFA there control is immense and it’s not even that here just quick, there balance is ridiculous to the point as to where they outpower the defender. And don’t get me started on how they win headers 75% of the time against a monster of a CB. Let’s face it FIFA has tried to compensate for smaller people as there isn’t alot of small people in football because they don’t make it through a trail where there too small. This pace abuse needs to stop!.

    • Jan Helge Olsen September 3, 2012 at 12:08 pm

totally agree with u jordan. stop the pace abuse. hate it so bad. me and my friend, always meet a clubs with a small dude. 5.2. and its not easy play agaist them. we are playing without any, and the cpu players is so bad, but when i trying to score goals, their cpu players is after me like a tiger. i am not a pace abuser. i am 5.11 tall. because i like to be strong and fast. not the fastest. but is so hard to play agaist cpu players, when i am 5.11 shouldnt be that. they tackle me soooo hard. should many times had freekick. where is the referee???

what does ‘Online Pro for Clubs only: no more offline boosting’ mean. does that mean i have to develop 2 different virtual pros? Whats boosting? I got 98% completion but i did everything on world class even though i can beat legendary like 7-1 every time i still do WC cos its easier to get accomplishments, is that boosting? Also does that mean me playing my pro in CM won’t count? i h8 playing pro ranked matches, no1 evr fkin passes they are all selfish.

    • David September 10, 2012 at 12:25 am

It means you will only be able to get acomplishments playing pro ranked matches or clubs. On FIFA 12 u could boost your pro with two pads, with a freind in a xbox live game,or in a exibition game.plus you could turn all the cpu sliders down to make it easier to make your pro better.i think its a great idea it will be a fair way for every 1 to rank there pros up the same way :D

      • Jeroen September 14, 2012 at 2:38 pm

But I don’t want to play my VP oline, I just want to play career with him and watch him grow, is that also possible? Like, you have diffirent online and offline stats? Or do you HAVE TO play online for him to ever get any better? That would really suck because I really don’t like playing VP online. I’m a career mode guy. Can someone please explain how it all works? Thanks in advance!

I truly do want my 6 ft pro to be as fast as 5’8 pros at least. The weight also has to be fixed. I hear people set their pros to 123lbs, what’s up with that I have mine like at 163 average body type.

  6. Gary September 22, 2012 at 3:46 pm

i think there were a good few things to be fixed from pro clubs in the last game, probably the worst was ones with their pro’s smaller than 5″5, you always see these midgets with stupid coloured afro’s getting lobbed balls over the defense and running 1vs1 with the keeper, also how can they bully and out jump some players nearly a foot taller? i have my pro at 6″1 which is my actual height and i get out jumped by these 5″2 pros? a few other things needing fixed are the AI GK’s, i sometimes bring out the keeper to make the striker shot further out but then they lob it and the keeper doesnt go back onto his line when he could easily run back and collect the ball? also glad to see that human keepers will change, hate playing against these massive keepers that save everything!

  7. wayne pooney September 24, 2012 at 8:10 am

messi is fat and it is stupid he weighs 17 stone so sort it out ea

  8. wayne pooney September 24, 2012 at 8:12 am

i think that on ultimate team there should be bigger tournemt prices and released more often also u should be able to have tatoos round your bellend

  9. Trev September 25, 2012 at 3:39 am

I think that having your virtual pro data saved on the server is a good idea to stop hacker because in fifa 12 it got ridiculous the amount of hacked pro’s on fifa clubs. Quite like the new promotion/relegation thing they now have in the fifa club divisions. Definitely going to be tough building/tuning your vp but really looking forward to it, can’t wait for it to come out.

  10. Jacko September 26, 2012 at 10:36 am

You are getting acceleration and speed mixed up. It takes usain bolt about 40-50 metres to go at full speed, thats over half a football pitch

  11. Svayn September 29, 2012 at 5:23 pm

Well in my opinion There should be Online pros and Offline pros , cause im the Offline carrer mode vp type and i don’t really enjoy playing it online. Maybe EA should think more about the people who plays this game offline :(

    • nick October 1, 2012 at 10:46 am

There are online & offline pros – As far as im aware I haven’t been able start a manager mode with an offline pro though. I think you can only use offline pros in the player career modes – you can have more than one offline pro for multiple player careers.

  12. Chris October 17, 2012 at 3:08 am

Have they turned down the saving ability of virtual pro goalkeepers? Because i can’t make the saves i usually do in a game?

  13. O My Balls November 3, 2012 at 8:59 am
