This is easily the BEST and EASIEST way to make coins on FIFA 12 Ultimate Team that I have come across so far.

First we brought you 5 Ways to Makes Coins on FIFA 12 Ultimate Team.  If that wasn’t enough we brought you another 6!  Different techniques work best for different people but I’m going to share with you my Number One, best way to make coins on Ultimate Team!  I’ve had much more success and made coins faster using this technique than anything else I’ve tried.

Make Ultimate Team Coins Fast

It’s not the most exciting technique, it requires a lot of patience and I’m going to have to warn you – you’re going to need a few coins to start with (if you haven’t got many yet you might be best checking out some of our early posts on making coins).  About 20,000 should do it…  (You can probably get away with less to be honest but it won’t be as easy).

As the saying goes: “It takes money to make money!”

The method is simple.  Buy a large quantity of the same player cheap and then sell them for more coins.  Sounds easy?  Well it is as long as you do your research.

Find Out How Much a Player Sells For

The important part of this coin making technique is knowing how much the player you are going to trade reliably SELLS for.  This is different than looking at the market and seeing how much people have put the player up for.  75% of the players listed probably won’t get bought.

The reason you need to know how much a player reliably sells for is so you know how much you need to buy the players for in order to make a profit.

The way to do this is to fill your watch list with the same player, see which ones sell and for what price.

If you’ve recently bought a player for your own team you’ve probably done a bit of research to get a good price before buying.  It might be a good idea to start with this player because you’ve done half the work already.

The Buying

Once you’ve chosen which player you’re going to trade and decided the price point at which you’re going to buy, hit the transfer market and purchase a large quantity of the same player.  The more you can buy the easier it will be to make a profit.

Be disciplined!  Don’t get drawn into bidding wars.  You’ve decided on a price point.  Try not to go over it or you’ll be eating into your profits.

First up, search for Buy It Now’s (BINs) for less than your price point.  Next search for auctions for less than your price point.  Be the first to bid on them.  Be realistic but don’t be afraid to throw in some cheeky bids.  Other people don’t like to get drawn into bidding wars too so if they see someone else has already made a (realistic) bid most of the time they’ll look elsewhere.

Try the 59th Minute technique too.

The Selling

Once you bought a large number of the same player, put them all up one the market over a short period of time.  Because you’ll have a large market share in this player you can charge a bit more than the going rate, effectively raising the players going rate.  Other sellers will see lot’s of this player at the price you’ve set, assume this is the going rate and put theirs on the market at a similar price.  You’re effectively price fixing the market and if people want to buy your player, they’re going to have to pay your prices.

(It’s a good job the Ultimate Team market is regulated by the FSA… ;))

You’re players aren’t all going to sell in one go and you’re going to have to keep relisting them over the space of a few days but you’ll get rid of them all eventually.  Just keep dropping the price slightly if necessary.

My Own Experience

Using this technique, I bought about 40 Ivanovic’s for between 1,500 and 1,800 coins and sold every one of them for between 2,900 and 3,200 coins making over 60,000 coins profit over a few days!

I spent about 66,000 coins and made around 126,000 coins – that’s over 90% profit!

Another Experience

Whilst building my Ultimate Team Everton squad I went to buy Royston Drenthe, a silver left winger with 90 pace.  When I searched for him, every single Drenthe was being sold by the same guy for around 90,000 coins.  EVERY SINGLE ONE!

This chap had obviously picked up on the fact that he was one of the fastest Silver players on the game and snapped them all up at a reasonable price.  Because he had all of them he could charge whatever the hell he liked.

The Risk

You’ve got to speculate to accumulate and speculation doesn’t come without risks.  With this technique you’re gambling on ONE player – putting all your eggs in one basket.  If you get your numbers wrong you could be left with a lot of players on your transfer list that you’re unable to sell without making a loss.

This stresses the importance of doing your research and knowing how much players sell for.

Tips on Using This Ultimate Team Coin Making Technique

  • Work with friends to buy up more of the same player.  The more of the market share you can snap up and sell over a short period of time, the more you can price fix.  If there’s demand for the player and you’re the only one selling him you can up the price and people with assume it’s the norm.
  • If you’re price fixing, throw in a couple of players at a slightly cheaper price so people feel like they’re getting a bargain.
  • Don’t worry too much about player formations.  Obviously popular formations will be easier to sell but there are plenty of people out there that don’t even check formations so your players will sell eventually.
  • If there’s a big game coming up, look at targeting a player that’s involved.  If they have a stormer you’ll see their price rise in the market.
  • Try buying a quiet times of the day (like when everyone’s a work, college or school or in the middle of the night…) and then sell at peak times.
  • Do your research!!!

Great plan, it seems everyone is doing this as well the problem is getting to that 60,000 coin mark.

    • Craig Cole December 8, 2011 at 6:23 pm

Yeah it is. You’ve got to be patient in the transfer market (or lucky in packs). If you can team up with a few friends you don’t need as many coins to start with.

      • Wei November 17, 2012 at 1:28 pm

How many players minimum do u recommend putting up in order for this to be effective?

  2. Danny December 8, 2011 at 7:52 pm

I love price locking :D I have made loads of money using this method, the work that you put in really does pay off!

    • Craig Cole December 9, 2011 at 1:40 am

If you get it right you can make a fortune. Just have to be careful though because you’re gambling on one player.

ANOTHER GREAT TECHNIQUE. Win games. Play the game and win. This is tricky because you have to be good at fifa. But if you can get the hang of scoring goals and not conceeding, you’re bound for coinage.

Take that coin, buy some packs. Eventually you’ll stumble upon some rares worth money. Now youre rich. Use them, or liquidize.

But the key is winning. I always laugh when I play an 87 overall team who can’t get a shot on goal.

      • Craig Cole December 25, 2011 at 9:01 pm

Thanks for the tip Gabe. People forget that playing matches is a great way to make coins. You can get 500 coins just for losing!

Like you say though – win online and score a few goals you can rack up 10,000 coins in about 14 games, even less if you win a tournament or two!

hi guys, sorry if i sound stupid but im quite new to Ultimate team. can you guys tell me what price fixing mean? and how do i check the player’s market price?

    • Craig Cole December 9, 2011 at 12:23 am

When you put a large number of the same players up for sale at the same time you can sell them for an inflated price. This is because when people search all they’re going to see is your auctions and they’ll assume that’s the going rate. That’s price fixing.

The best way to check a players market rate is to put about 20 in your Watch List and see how much they sell for. Remember, the market rate is the amount of coins a player SELLS for – not what they’re listed as.

      Hope this helps.

Thanks mate, that really helped. I will try this technique, hope it will work for me..

As well as that, you could use the Ultimate Database.
        The website is http://www.ultimatedb.nl
click on player database (5th one fromt the left), Search your player in the fields given (just name and league to save time) and xbox, ps3 and PC prices appear next to the name. if the player has an inform(s) they will appear as well. hope this helped.

      • hamid June 19, 2012 at 3:02 pm

It is basically you get a lot of the same players and put them on the watch list. Then you do something else or play some games and when all of the players in you watch list expires then find the middle score or just average them. Then you find some players and bid on them depending on the average coins that you worked out. Now all you need to do is put them in the market for about 300-500 coins more to make some profit but don’t go over the average coins that you worked out because you won’t make any profit or if you do make some profit it won’t be much. Thanks for reading hoped it helped!!! Thanks!!!

    Hey mate,
Thanks for the tips, I play on the PC version. I am struggling to sell my players. For example I brought Fernando Llorente for 1500g but i am selling him for 1700bid/2300 buyout. Its been on the market for a day and so far no luck. I have around 9 cards that are exactly the same (selling much 200g-300g higher than what i brought them for).

Any help would be much appreicated :)

  7. Bob January 18, 2012 at 12:11 pm

This method is annoying, it took me a week to find a Simon Davies for my welsh squad as someone had bought them all and was selling for 3k BIN each, eventually someone put one on for 600 start price for a day and I won unchallenged with that price. That was funny because it showed and that there there was no demand for Davies and he had lowered his prices to 1.5k BIN and still couldn’t sell lol

  8. Tempesta January 22, 2012 at 11:14 am

I can say that what you describe works very well. It could be the best but not the faster way to get coins, as the title says. For example: buying coins with real money is faster. There are several methods. Try to learn http://www.fifauteam.com/fifa-ultimate-team-coins-guide/

the only thing i do is buy bronze packs and sell the items for 150 with a 250 buy now price. a bronze pack costs 400 and selling 3 items is already more than the pack price. Its not much of a profit but after a while it soon adds up

  25. Apeklets March 11, 2013 at 4:15 pm

I know another GOOD way to make coins in FUT, it’s called the DOUBLE ACCOUNT METHOD, maybe you already know about this method, but for the people who don’t know this method; I’ll explaine
To make this a little simpler, I’ll call your account where you want the coins to be account A, account B is where it all happens
You can make an extra account on Origin, on the iPad version it doesn’t matter which e-mail adress you choose, such like accountB@accountB.com will work, I don’t know about the X-Box or PS3 version, but if it doesn’t work, just use a real e-mail adress, so if you have made a second account (account B). You’ll get a starter pack, made an good arrangement and start to play, use all your contracts and if you are out of contracts, just discard and sell the whole shit and go to account A, at account A you sell the most terrible card for the money you gained on account B (important: check all the information about clubs and countries on the card, so you can find the card you selled easy at the auction). Once you have done that, go to account B and buy the card you sold on account A and discard it or something. Delete your team and do it all again! (makes around the 5k per team)

Hey Craig, I have really been struggling to make coins, basically what I’m doing at the moment is just looking for bargains and adding about a 300 coin profit margin but it seems to be taking forever! I really like the price fixing method but I don’t have enough to start it.. Any advice would be much appreciated, thank you!

  27. Palash Gupta May 24, 2013 at 10:42 am

Husein- This is my first year playing FUT and i HAVE traded to a million coins. Took me some time trying to understand how trading worked but i got there. Start off with someone who’s POPULAR and cheap, like Danny Welbeck for example. When i started trading he went for about 2k, I played lots of games and made about 8k coins. So, i bought 3 welbecks in an auction for about 1.3k-1.5k and sold him for about 1.9-2k. making about a 400 coin profit on each. As your coins tally grows, trade with more expensive players. Like a few chicharitos and kabouls. Keep doing that and you’ll have plenty of coins in no time. Good luck with FUT 14! It’s too late to start trading in FUT 13 cause the market has crashed.
