According to Gamespot AU’s James Kozanecki, Everton and Socceroo midfielder will star on the cover of EA Sports flagship title for the second year running.

The Everton and Australia star makes his second appearance on a FIFA cover lining up with Real Madrid’s Kaka and Manchester United’s Wayne Rooney.

On a personal level I’m made up for Tim. EA couldn’t have picked a more model pro and nicer guy. I may be bias being an Everton fan but I’m sure Tim’s charm resonates further than the blue half of Merseyside.

Tim joined Everton in 2004 from Millwall for £1.5 million and quickly became an integral part of David Moyes starting eleven and a huge fan favourite at Goodison Park. Cahill will no doubt go down in Everton history and his trademark punching the corner flag goal celebration will be not only be remembered but also copied by children all across the world.

He’s a regular in the Australian national team and wears his national colours proudly on his sleeve which is something that endears him to his fellow Australians. His popularity amongst Socceroo supporters hasn’t gone unnoticed by EA Sports who hope his face on their cover will help sell copies of their new title (due out in September 2010) in Australia.

Soccer in general has really taken off in recent years with more and more big name players tempted to the A-League which only started (in its current state) in 2005. EA Sports obviously recognise the growth and demand for their football game over in Australia buy paying out big bucks to secure the sponsorship of probably the country’s biggest footballing name.

Tim Cahill also graced the cover of FIFA 2010 last year with his 2011 colleague Wayne Rooney but Kaka is a new addition to the EA Sports marketing team. Kaka also stars alongside Wayne Rooney on the UK FIFA 11 cover.
